Transfer calls

Dear family,

On Saturday we received transfer calls and there are some big changes
happening. Sorella Battezzato (My STL) and Anziano Zappattini are
dying (finishing their missions) so we took them to the airport that
morning. So we're obviously getting another zone leader but other than
that, the rest of the Anziani are staying in Cagliari. Sorella
Biccherri (Sorella Battezzato's companion) is going to Ragusa and
Sorella Clark is going to be the STL in Rome 2! She will be follow-up
training my MTC companion, Sorella Rushton. I'm so excited for them.
And the crazy thing is that Sorella Rushton's trainer, Sorella Tingy
is coming here to be my follow-up trainer! The past few days have been
very stressful for me because obviously, I'm the only Sorella staying
here. Less sisters are coming in this transfer as the ones who are
leaving so President had to close down some areas, including one of
ours. So from now on there will only be one companionship of Sorelle
in Cagliari instead of two. We are taking over all of their work which
meas that I have spent the past few days just learning and organizing
their work with ours. I have to transfer all of our phone contacts to
theirs, combined all of our area books (we have like 6 right now) into
1, and learn everything I can about the people they are working with.
The hard thing is that we are on a time crunch. Sorella Biccherri
leaves Wednesday morning and Thursday morning for Sorella Clark. They
need to pack and get everything ready to go, plus they want to see as
many people as they can before they leave so we are beyond busy trying
to fit stuff in. In a perfect world, I'd be able to go and meet all of
their investigators and less-actives with Sorella Biccherri, but we
don't have time so I have to figure out how to get to their homes
myself and just pray that they're stable enough with their testimonies
to let us continue to teach them. Our area is pretty big and not easy
to navigate, but I've never had to worry about it because Sorella
Clark has been here for 7 months and knows everything and everyone.
It's going to be a struggle for me but I've been memorizing bus routes
so hopefully I can figure it out somewhat. And I get to worry about
setting up our schedule for this week after Sorella Clark leaves. But
no worries! I will have Sorella Tingy and God by my side to help me
with all of this! It's going to be so good for me too! I'm super
scared but also really excited for this change. I know it will bring
great things for all of us.

Our miracle this week was Daniela. She was our investigator who told
us she didn't want to meet with us anymore and kind of just
disappeared. This week the Anziani actually ran into her and said that
she is doing so good and would like to start meeting with the
missionaries again. They later told her that Sorella Clark would be
leaving this week so she called us and asked if we could meet her
yesterday!! She was so happy to see us, and she's doing so well. She
didn't go back to smoking or her boyfriend who was not a good
influence, she runs every morning, and she just so much happier and
sure about herself. We had a family home evening to go to right after
so she came with us. For the spiritual thought, we asked one of the
members to share her conversion story. It was perfect! Afterward
Daniela said that she felt like that testimony was for her. I am so
grateful for this experience we had with her. Everything lined up so
well to be exactly what she needs right now. I'm so glad to be in
contact with her again. She will be there for a ward family home
evening that we're doing tonight as well!

Tons of funny things happened this week, and now especially because
for some reason, being in a trio makes everything funnier. But
probably the best one for this week was this:
We were on our way to a lunch appointment when Nigerian man walked
past and said "hello." Africans love talking to us because we speak
English-actually everyone here who speaks even a little English love
using it on us. So we said hi and started talking to him. We invited
him to church but felt it best to not exchange numbers because 1. He's
a refugee so we can't really teach him until he becomes legal and 2.
He kept saying "you are so beautiful," and stuff like that haha (we
get this all the time.) Then he told us that he doesn't have work
(which is not uncommon here) so Sorella Clark said "can we pray for
you?" He's like "you are a good woman. You are the woman I would want
to present to my family like this is my love, this is my wife." After
that we got outta there real quick. Hahahaha so now we have a joke
that Sorella Clark is engaged to a Nigerian man. Oh and what's even
better is we saw him again today! We tried so hard to avoid him then
he saw us and yelled "hello Sorella's" we turned around and yelled hi
as we speed-walked in the other direction. πŸ˜‚ la vita.

We're preparing well, loving life, and really just taking in every
moment before they leave me. I'm going to miss them so much. The house
is going to feel so quiet without 4 sisters. It already does with just
one missing. We were like a little family, we sang and prayed together
in the morning, ate lunch together, and prayed together at night. Ah I
just love them so much and am so excited to hear about all of their
adventures at BYU, in Rome, and in Ragusa. πŸ’•

I love you all, thanks a ton for everything that you all do as members
in the church! As missionaries, we are in need of strong, active
members, keep firm in the faith and share your testimonies! Do what
you can to serve others and help the missionary efforts in your wards
and spheres of influences!

La mia cittΓ

This is Sorella Betty Ancis. She's the best member ever.

We were at the train station on our way to the airport when we saw this family. They were headed to a wedding. The culture is so rich here it's amazing!! These are traditional "sardo" clothing that are all hand-made and they pass done for generations. They only wear it for special occasions like weddings.

Growth week

1. Zone conference changed my life
2. Our scambios (companion exchanges) this week helped me soo much
Especially with Sorella Biccherri. All throughout the day she would
say "talk to that girl" and you don't say no to Sorella Biccherri πŸ˜‚
so I ended up talking to so many more people than I would have and by
the end of the day I was so happy because of it! I cannot explain it
but I just felt like I really did my very best to bear my testimony
and share these wonderful things I know with as many people as I
could. I did strike up some controversy a couple times on the bus with
people telling me that the bible is complete and its a sin to try to
add to it (have another book area the Book of Mormon) and there's no
such thing as modern day prophets, but for the most people are really
interested when I tell them about these things. Opposition in all
things.
3. Capi zona did the spiritual thought for English course on Tuesday
about coming to church. It was the coolest thing. They asked everyone
there who had been to our church to come up and talk about their
experience (only 3 men had been.) they all talked about how different
it is and how the feeling was also different than at their churches.
Afterwards one of our newer students came up to me and said "I've been
to your church before, and I've seen a baptism for your church, oh and
I have your book." Like no way?! I asked if she has read the Book of
Mormon and she said "oh yeah, I'm still reading it right now." It
turns out she had worked with missionaries years ago but then moved
here and never gotten in contact with anyone in our church until she
was invited to English course! How crazy is that?! Her name is Mara
and we started teaching her Thursday night. We're not sure how far she
got in the lessons before but she remembers a lot of it so its just
like we're reviewing everything, it's awesome!
4. Do you all remember Sebastiana? The 75+ year old lady who made us
tiramisu? She ignored our calls for like 2 weeks straight so we ended
up dropping her. But then last week I'm pretty sure I wrote about her
coming to the baptism and crying because she felt the spirit so much.
Well, we started seeing her again this week and SHE ACCEPTED A BAPTISM
DATE!! FINALLY!! SHE KNOWS WITH ALL HER HEART THAT THE BOOK OF MORMON
IS TRUE. She's only been reading for about a month and she's already
in ALMA! She will be baptized June 25 😊 We are so happy for her.
EVERYONE can change. No matter how old, no matter their culture or
background, everyone. Sebastiana is a testimony of this.
5. We threw a surprise birthday party for our ward mission leader
with the help of his wife. All the missionaries came and she invited
some ward members too. It was tons of fun, everyone devoured our
brownies, and the best part is he was not expecting it at all. We
decided kind of on the spot to play a game where everyone went around
and said something about Fratello Ancis (the ward mission leader).
Afterwards he told us that he really needed to hear those things right
now. He has struggled with depression in the past and apparently he
needed to hear all the wonderful words of his friends and family In
that moment. God is aware of our needs and will help direct people to
fulfill them. I have a testimony of this.
6. I thought that after two months I wouldn't get as many bug bites
anymore because no one else seems to get any, but don't worry, I'm
still going strong and currently have 7 just on my face 😝 in fact I
woke up two days ago with blood on my cheek because apparently I'd
smashed one on my face while I was sleeping. I know, gross.

I think that's all I have to report for now, sorry this was a really
weird/not very good email. Oh, we had another awesome pday today. Our
bishop took us to this town further north and we got to go and visit
this site of ancient ruins. These people didn't keep any records so
they have no idea who they were or what these structures were used for
(living, military, temples) but looks like I could have been a huge
castle or something. It was awesome! I took tons of pictures but don't
have my camera so you'll just have to wait until next week.

Letter to president
This week was a week full of growth for me. Zone conference motivated
me to become a better missionary then the scambios we did this week
helped me to put that will into action. I have started using the
restoration pamphlet in my finding and I see have seen miracles
because of it. Before my conversations with people consisted of small
talk and then exchanging beliefs which ended up with them saying that
we believe in a lot of the same things so if I asked if they wanted to
know more they saw no reason to investigate our church. Now the people
really understand my purpose and know what makes our church different.
It has made me want to talk to more people because I have something
amazing to share with them that they don't already know. I won't lie I
have had more people disagree with me because I bear testimony of the
restoration, but I have also seen more miracles. We have also gotten
better at planning this week rather than just filling time with our
backup plans and it has made it so much easier to be excited for our
backup plan when our main plans fall through. Thank you for the
wonderful zone conference, it really did change my life as a
missionary.

Sometimes all the Sorelle go for gelato by the peer

Cathedral of Saint Efisio

Another awesome cathedral

There's tons of cute houses that are all so colorful. I can't remember if I've already sent this one or not

Here's a picture of the ruins that we saw today. (One of the other sisters sent it to me) we got to go inside this huge castle part and this is looking out of it

Life is good

Alright I have barely any time at all to email today because our
awesome zone leaders planned a zone pday for today that's going to
last all day. All the missionaries in Sardegna are coming in this
morning for the activity and then staying and working here tonight
because we have zone conference tomorrow. We're super excited but yeah
just so you know, sorry that this will be short and if I can't respond
to very many of you. I still love you!!

Here's a quick rundown of my week:

MONDAY
I was in the questura again on Monday..this has been the third (and
hopefully last) day I had to spend there πŸ˜… Then that night we taught
Rosella, I think I told you about her last week. The woman who asked
if we could babysit her kids. We we t over to her house and taught her
10 year old daughter and her. It went really well. She also has a son
who is 11, he wasn't there this time but we're hoping to teach all
three of them together next time. We planned to have another lesson
with her on Friday but she got sick, the good news though is that she
kept our invite and started reading the Book of Mormon! We invited her
to continue to read and pray with her children and feel really hopeful
with her.

TUESDAY
I had to go to an Italian culture class and watch videos of people
telling me about the structure of the Italian government, all the
laws, and how to become a permanent citizen for 5 HOURS. So now I am
very informed and honestly probably know more about this county than
the citizens πŸ˜‚. I'm supposed to go back for another 5 hours tomorrow
but we have zone conference so we told them that we wouldn't be able
to come. It's funny because if we weren't Americans they probably
would've said that we had to go, but everyone loves Americans here so
they're like "okay that's fine. We might call you in a month to come
finish it up but yeah you're good." Haha they literally got so excited
when they saw my passport they're like "look it's American!! Che
Bella! (What beautiful..doesn't really make sense in English)" I think
they also appreciated the fact that we spoke Italian.. No one else in
the class could.

As for the rest of the week, we received a lot of bidones (that's what
we call it when someone cancels on us or doesn't show up to our
appointments--it means that they gave a a trash can haha idk) and so
didn't get to meet with hardly anyone. But we saw the most amazing
miracle on Saturday!

SATURDAY:
We had another double baptism on Saturday- both companionships of
Anziani had an investigator who was baptized. We had the impression to
call one of the investigators who dropped us last week (Sebastiana) to
invite her to the baptism. She hadn't been answering our calls for two
weeks so it was a miracle that she even picked up. She ended up
coming! When she saw the first man baptized she turned around and was
in tears. She could not stop herself from crying. She is very very
Catholic and explained to us that she felt happy and excited when her
sons were baptized as babies, but this was a completely different kind
of feeling. We told he that this was the spirit testifying to her. She
also told us that it was more special because these two men were
making this choice for themselves. She also mentioned that this ward
is like a family. She said that if she were to stop attending her
church, no one would notice but here everyone knows and cares for each
other. She knows that this is a good thing, she knows it's true, now
she just has to act. We think that the reason she won't meet with us
is because her son (who lives with her) is very skeptical about us and
doesn't want his mom meeting with us. We're kind of stuck trying to
figure out what we can do, but we pray that she will decide for
herself that this is what she wants, and not let anyone get in the way
of that.
That night we got to do an activity with the youth. It was so much fun
and so good to get to know the youth in the ward, we work with the
adults so I hadn't talked to any of them before. We played American
games like fruit basket and signs. They loved it. We ended by sharing
a spiritual message about courage. They all participated and shared
their testimonies. These youth are strong and understand what's most
important in this life. I hope that this message helped them and will
stick with them. Then we went outside and played soccer and ate hot
dogs. But they made them up really different. They were inside a
toasted croissant and had sweet onions and this stuff that was kind of
like potato salad and I don't even know what else was in it but it was
so good. They really know how to do food right here.

FUNNY STORY:
My companion and I were on a bus and this crazy lady got on, like
really she was proprio pazza. She was yelling at the guys who check to
see if we have bus passes and apparently she was saying some pretty
harsh stuff **blessings for not speaking this language- I couldn't
understand any of itπŸ˜‚** Then she comes up to us and is like "ciao
sisters" (everyone here loves trying to use English on us even if they
only know like 2 words πŸ˜‚) Then she gets really close to my companion
and says "you have beautiful teeth, are they yours?" My companions
like.. "Uhh yes?" Then she said "are you American? They're American
teeth, that's why they're beautiful." Then she went down and sat next
to a guy and told him that he could be a model πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

We were matching on Sunday (not on purpose) so we had to get a picture

God has a plan

All of my pictures are on my camera and I'm working on getting a card reader so sorry I don't send very many cool ones, they'll come soon enough I promise.
Sent from my iPadThis week started out with the realization of blessings! It is really
cold and windy here like all the time. It's weird because every week
the weather goes through these cycles of being really warm
Tuesday-Thursday then really cold/windy/rainy Friday-Monday. We don't
understand...also a lot of the times it'll be cold in the morning, hot
during the day, then really windy at night. but anyway, I realized
that I don't get as cold as I used to back home! I was so worried that
I wouldn't be able to handle going out and working in cold weather
because I hate it so much. But here, it just doesn't affect me as
much. Like I can feel that it's cold, but it doesn't bother
me..blessing of the mission! Also, last Monday night I saw the most
beautiful sunset that I'd ever seen in my entire life. The whole sky
was pink! I tried to get pictures but it would not do it justice. Ahh
God loves us.

WEDNESDAY:
We went all the way out to Dolianova- a piazzino almost an Hours Anas
from Cagliari by bus. We Went there to teach Lecca (the scarf lady if
you remember.) We talked to so many people on our way out there, they
were practically coming up to us in the bus station it was hilarious.
We invited like 5 autista's (bus drivers) to church. I think they were
more interested in us than our message...Hahaha..but hey if we can get
them in church that's all that matters right? We told them that we
have some Anziani who would love to talk to them more about our church
and they said nah, we'd rather talk to you guys πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚
Lecca (the only woman who gave my companion her scarf)was so happy to
have us over but sadly I think she wanted us there as friends rather
than to learn. She got so upset when we said we could only stay for 45
minutes, she was planning to make lunch and even dinner together and
just spend the whole day. Her daughter was also there though, and she
was very interested when we talked about the Book of Mormon. She said
she'd loved to read it so we'll see what happens with them, we're
hopeful.

We planned to have a lesson with Daniela (the girl who quit smoking)
at the home of the Famiglia Sanna but she texted us like an hour
before and said that she was tired and couldn't focus so we had to
cancel. Then about an hour later she texted us again and said
something like "I don't think I can return to you anymore. Something
has changed inside of me, please don't insist. I will never forget
you, thank you for everything. I will always love you." We were in
shock. Just a day ago everything was totally fine! She quit smoking!
She was texting us scriptures she liked! She was studying the bible
and the Book of Mormon! We don't understand. We tried to call her and
even went to her house to talk to her but we haven't been able to. We
were absolutely devastated and I'm still sad when I think about it.
She was so ready for baptism, but Satan was about to fill her with
doubts and disable her spiritually.

This week was actually pretty tough for us because our 3 most
progressing investigators (Maria Cristina, Sebastiana, and Daniela)
all dropped us within a 3 day period. It happened kind of like it did
with Daniela, where everything was fine then one day they say they
can't see you anymore or stop answering your calls. Satan is real.
After talking to a Sorella who lives in my house and is a convert, I
realized that every person who is investigating the church goes
through some kind of low point belfry they are baptized. They have
some kind of doubt or fear or trial that could keep them from baptism,
and they don't have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost to
help them understand what's from God, and what's not for instance,
Daniela didn't feel worthy to pray. it's the rare few who make it past
those things who end up getting baptized. I pray that all of these
wonderful women will find their way back to the church when the time
is right.

THURSDAY:
We had two wonderful lessons with Eleonora and Monica. Eleonora is a
student in her 20s who Sorella Clark met at a gesso a while ago. She's
been too busy with school to meet with us but then We called her like
two weeks ago and set up an appointment to give her a church tour and
a Book of Mormon. The only problem was, it was during English course.
Luckily enough then Sassari Sorelle were here because one of them was
getting transferred so we did a split where I taught English course
with Sorella Moro and Sorella Clark did the lesson with Sorella
Littlefield.
So this is the first time I met her, and she is so cute! She sincerely
wants to know Christ so she really ponders the scriptures.
Monica seems a little bit more interested in the knowledge of the
world right now. She wants to read this book for knowledge rather than
the spiritual aspect of it. But she really is with it, she was able to
summarize everything she read and she knows what's going on with the
story. But we challenged her to look for ways that these things could
apply to her life. Then we showed her a video called Mountains to
Climb. if you haven't seen it I recommend you do so (it's on gospel
library.) I love this video, I cried the first time I saw it, and so
did she. It was perfect for her because she told us about how she had
polio as a child and because she overcame it, she hikes mountains
every Sunday (we'll change that to Saturday ;) ). I know that she felt
the spirit and hope that she reads this book with real intent and a
sincere heart.

SUNDAY:
Do you remember Ilaria? We found her on the bus a month ago and taught
her the restoration that next Sunday. She has been so busy with work
that we haven't been able to meet with her until yesterday! As well as
her boyfriend! She was so excited to introduce us to him and he said
that she told him all about the lesson we had with her before and the
Book of Mormon. She's read 10 chapters! She is very Catholic and he
doesn't believe in God so they are complete opposites but both of them
hung onto every word we said. We invited him to pray at the end of the
lesson and he did!! Ilaria was so happy. It was a beautiful prayer,
and they are just so with it! They are both going to read and pray and
can't wait for us to come back!

I always try to make sure I have a funny story in here somewhere but I
can't think of anything specific from this week right now so I'll just
share this:
We have an African lady in our ward and she the sweetest person but
maybe just not all the way there if you know what I mean..she's a
little crazy. She speaks Nigerian as her first language, then English
and Italian not super well, but well enough for people to understand.
In fact the first thing she said to me my first week was "how's your
black president doing?" Hahah who knows. So anyway, she loves to give
comments in church and participate in the lessons and bear her
testimony on fast Sunday and stuff like that. Everyone reacts
differently when they feel the spirit, for a lot of people, including
me, we cry while we baring our testimony and stuff like that, but for
her, SHE LAUGHS. Every time she feels the spirit she can't hold back
her giggles to the point where she can't even get out what she's
trying to say πŸ˜‚ so just imagine someone bawling while bearing their
testimony and substitute that for laughing. It is the funniest thing
and always spices up the meetings a bit haha.

Cathedrals are literally everywhere

The Tempting Tiramisu

Numero due: I AM SO SORRY to everyone who I haven't been able to email
back!! We have been so busy I literally only sent the group email and
then one to my mom. But I am so so grateful for all of your emails and
I promise I will email you back as soon as I can!

Numero tre: I've been meaning to write this email for a while now but
I keep forgetting. Every single person I meet asks "what is the origin
of your name?" They're like "it doesn't sound American" Then almost
everyone tries to tell me what it means. Some of the best ones I've
heard are: a ninja, a bald priest, and some ancient ruins. They also
ALWAYS think it's my first name at first when I introduce myself
because my companion's last name is Clark and I think they know that's
a first name for males in America so they just think she has a boy's
name. And then I introduce myself and they look at me funny and say
"BONZO?? What kind of a parent would name their kid Bonzo?!" Hahaha

MARISTELLA: I got to do service this week!! We are supposed to be
doing 4 hours of derive a week (2 of those hours we spend doing
English course) but we never get the change because Italians are
pretty prideful people so they never let us help with anything. But we
got a call from a lady named Maristella and she asked if we would help
her clean her garden. We thought she was a less-active (there's so
many here) but when we got there she told us that she's half-Catholic
and half-Mormon..meaning that she's Catholic but she reads the Book of
Mormon. We found out that her sister lives in Milan and is a member
and so she kept telling her to call the missionaries so she finally
did! little did we know SHE WAS CRAZY..in the best way. She was sooo
funny and wild. We started working then next thing I know she was
blasting Elvis music and dancing-keep in mind she's like 80. She sang
along to all of them but had no idea what they were saying. We
translated for her and she just laughed and laughed. We went back the
next day to finish up then tried to have a lesson with her. She's very
religious, loves reading the Book of Mormon and always prays-like
before we started gardening she said "okay first we have to say a
prayer because the scriptures say you have to pray before doing
anything" and throughout the whole time she just kept saying "oh lord
give me the strength" πŸ˜‚ But we found out that she's met with the
missionaries in the past (like 20 years ago) and does not want to be
baptized. Sorella Clark asked if she had prayed to ask god what path
she should take and she said "yes, Catholic." Unfortunately some
people will never understand and change from what they know and are
comfortable with but she's still a great person the sweetest lady. She
even sent us home with dinner that night.

DANIELA: On Wednesday after our correlation meeting our Zone Leaders
came up to Sorella Clark and I and asked for our advice with one of
their investigators..you have to understand that our zone leaders and
the most amazing missionaries you will ever meet. They are the kind of
missionaries that everyone looks up to and wants to become like..and
they were asking us for advice?? After we talked about the situation
they said "what are you doing right now? We have a lesson with her in
5 minutes and we feel like we need to pass her off to you." So not
only was I about to do a lesson with my zone leaders that I had no
time to prepare for, but also their is their miracle investigator.
She's like the investigator anyone would dream of having. Then we get
in there and they say okay we want this to be your lesson, we'll be
here to support but you'll lead the lesson. We had to completely go by
the spirit because we had no time to prepare and we didn't know her at
all, but it turned out so great! And SHE IS AMAZING! She has such a
desire to gain a testimony. I have had the most amazing lessons with
her because she sincerely wants to know. When she asks questions it's
never because she's trying to compare our beliefs to the Catholic
Church (which is what a lot of people do.) she really ponders on the
scriptures she reads and always comes with questions about things she
didn't understand during her reading. She came to church on Sunday..I
talk about it in my letter to my president but here il just say that
it was incredible!! UPDATE ON DANIELA: as I was writing this Daniela
called us and told us that she is having a hard time right now we
asked her why and she said its because she's trying to quit smoking!
We haven't even taught her the word of wisdom yet! This is huge for
her because she usually has to smoke every hour or two. She told us
that she wanted to talk for a second to take her mind off of it. She
said prayed and asked her Heavenly Father to help her over this
addiction and was currently watching meet the Mormons as a
distraction!! We're like: wait, we didn't even tell you that we don't
smoke first of all, and second, how did you know about meet the
Mormons?? She is so awesome and has been doing her research (in the
right places might I add.)

SEBASTIANA: Sebastiana is an investigator who we've had for about 4
weeks now. She is an English course student who wanted a Book of
Mormon. She's like 70+ years old, very Catholic and super sweet. She
loves having us over and loves everything about our church. She even
came to general conference (she's the one who said she felt like she'd
been transported into heaven after watching a session.) And she is
already in Mosiah in the Book of Mormon!! Okay so funny story for this
week..actually it was really really sad at the moment but hilarious
now that we look back on it. So you may have noticed by now that
Italians show their love through the food they give you. That's why
they give you 5 scoops of pasta at dinner appointments when they only
eat 2 or every time we visit someone they send us home with a juice
box and some kind of treat and the members always bake things for the
missionaries (now you'll also sympathize with me if I start to look a
little chubbier in my pictures haha I promise I workout every
morning!!) You have to eat it because it's a demonstration of their
love for you! Anyway, we were at Sebastiana's house for a lesson and
we were getting ready to leave and she's like "oh wait I made
something for you with all the love in her heart, I was thinking what
could I make these incredible girls? It took me 3 hours to make. I
made you TIRAMISU!" OF COURSE IT WOULD BE SOMETHING WE CANT EAT. She
was sooo excited then we had to crush this sweet old lady's heart and
tell her that we couldn't eat it. She could not understand. She's like
let me just bring it out and show you. It was the most beautiful,
perfectly-made dessert I have ever seen in my life. So we had to give
a brief lesson on the word of wisdom and then she's like "but I worked
so hard on it, you can just try a little bit and repent tomorrow!"
HAHAHAHAH so obviously we need to have a lesson on repentance..😬 When
she realized that we weren't going to eat it she started to cry and
said "what do we do? What do we do?" By that point my companion and I
felt so bad we wanted to eat it just to make her happy, but don't
worry, we didn't. So she's like "I can make you some TEA" OF COURSE
THATS THE NEXT THING SHED OFFER US!! Hahaha So after we explained all
of the things we don't eat she ended up giving us some juice boxes and
Nutella cookies and even some lemons from her tree (which were
AMAZING.) Needless to say my companion and I didn't sleep well that
night because we felt so bad. We basically denied her love. But we
called her the next day and apologized again and she also came to
church so all is well. Now looking back after a few days we just laugh
every time we think about it.

We also started teaching a couple from English course who has 3 young
kids! They are great and are really family-oriented and love that our
church is as well. We are setting up a family home evening with them
and another family in a ward with young kids and we're excited for
that. They are super busy and live pretty far away so we haven't been
able to go over to their house and teach their whole family (we just
saw them before English course in the church) but we're hoping to do
so soon! We also started teaching Eleonora this week but I haven't met
her! I was teaching English course with one of the Sorelle from
Sassari (the area at the top of the island) while Sorella Clark was
with her companion and they taught Eleonora. But my companion has said
great things about her so I'm excited to meet her!So we ended up with
4 new investigators this week and 10 in total!! We are so busy with
all of these people. My companion has been here for 6 months and
almost a year into the mission and she has never seen this much work.
I told you Cagliari is blossoming!! It's an exhausting, difficult,
strenuous, and wonderful thing to get to work with and help this many
people!!
As for today, I spent my whole morning in the questura (to get my
"green card") and have to go back next week as well. Yay. Sorella
Biccheirri was with me because she's Italian so she can understand all
of the legal stuff. We had been waiting for 2 hours and got super
hungry so we tried to find a nearby store really quick so we could buy
something and eat while we waited because we figured it'd be another
hour and a half. The only store close was a baby store literally full
of things just for babies. We decided it was better than nothing and
bought ourselves some baby food πŸ˜‚ it's funny because we are "babies"
in the mission. She's only 1 transfer ahead of me and we're both still
with our "moms" (trainers)

Letter to mission president
We were blessed with 4 new investigators this week and have been
seeing progress from the others. Daniela is one of those new
investigators who was passed to us by the Anziani. She is wonderful!
She has such a desire to learn and gain a testimony! She has accepted
the baptism date of May 21st and I'm confident she will be ready for
that day. She's one of those people who didn't know they were missing
something or searching for something until she met the Anziani. Now
she hungers to know more. She wants to meet with us whenever possible
and really ponders and asks questions about the scriptures she reads.
She really wants to understand. She came to church yesterday for the
first time and cried because of the sprit that she felt. After hearing
many of the ward-member's testimonies she turned to us and said, "is
all of this really true? It seems almost too good to be true. How did
I, out of millions of people find this church?" I am so grateful to
the ward members for the beautiful testimonies they shared as well as
being so kind and welcoming to both of our investigators who were in
church that day. I know that they both felt loved and cared about.

Daniela made us this cake!
